A Message from Youthfest Director Sue Burns:

Hello Everyone,

How lucky are we, not only did we have great weather, but we had the best event ever,  we estimate roughly 3,000 people attended, and I thank everyone of you, for attending and making this the best youth based event in the Borough, I would like to send a special thanks to a couple of people, firstly the Cathall Safer Neighbourhood Team, and all the Police that were there, you made event a safe place, and once again, without you this event would never have taken place. Secondly thanks to the stewards, who every year give up there day to be with us free of charge. Then there's the people on the food, who every year, do us proud. But mainly I would like to thank all those who went on stage, and did South Leytonstone proud again, and showed everyone what talent we have in this little corner of Waltham Forest. I would like to say a special thanks to the guys and girls who run the PA, who have now made this a total youth event.  Finally, a very special Thank you to the Olympic 2012 team, who gave us the mascots Wenlock and Mandeville, I bet they were all cuddled out by the end of the day.

Finally, just to say although I am the director of the event, the event is under the umbrella of SLADA, which is a community group, who hopes to help make others see South Leytonstone in a different light. So would like to thank members of SLADA for the help they have given with putting this event on.

Lets hope we can do it again next year.

Sue Burns
Director of Youthfest.

I would just like to say thank you for a super day, not only did Box4life pick up some new members, but some old members have now returned back.
The feed back that we got on the stall was great, some of the children who tried out on the bags enjoy'd it.
The youthfest is a great day which pulls people together, for all the hard work that people do,not only to put the event on, but also the singers and actors have to do to be ready to perform on the day.
WELL DONE EVERYBODY.
Forget Britains got talent, Leytonstone has got talent.
Mark Rule - Box 4 Life

Once again Youth Fest was a successful event and obviously much appreciated by the large numbers of people attending. It is very much a family/community event for everyone and teenagers function well in this form of arrangement. As well as being a fun day it was good to see a range of organisations such as Waltham Forest College represented to point young people in the right direction. Well done the organisers!!!
